Good for Greenford?

gbrThe Good for Greenford project is still not completed despite many promises from the Tory leader of the Council that it would be finished by 31st December 2009. With work now being carried out late into the evenings it seems Tory Leader, Cllr Stacey is determined to finish the project no matter what the disruption to local residents before the local elections on the 6th May.

One very serious issue that has arisen directly as a result of the "Good for Greenford" project is the increased traffic and delays caused by the narrowing of the eastbound Ruislip Rd / The Broadway to just one lane as vehicles pass through the town centre.

This could have been avoided if the Tory Council either installed an extra dedicated bus lane or have two lanes of traffic heading east. They ignored advice from consultants despite paying a hefty fee from council tax money and we are now left with acres of pavements where residents are having to breath in extra traffic fumes or very frustrated motorists finding it more difficult to get into Greenford or go on to Ealing. With the best will in the world this cannot be described as being Good for Greenford.
