Labour is Delivering

The Ealing Tories have stated that performance at the council is declining and our residents are becoming dissatisfied with the services that the council provides. These assertions present an interesting interpretation of the latest performance data that the council has released. The residents survey shows the same amount of people are satisfied with the councils services as last year as the result was within the margin of error of the previous years result. It also showed that the number of people very satisfied with the council has trebled.

 

The annual performance statement of the council showed that our recycling rate has hit a record high, our streets have never been cleaner, housing benefit wait times are at a record low, customer service standards are the best ever and the number of young people not in work or training has improved considerably and is much lower than comparable boroughs. The recent inspection of our child protection services by Ofsted ranked us as one of the very best authorities in the country. Quite how this shows performance declining is a mystery.

 

The Conservatives are very fond of telling us how well they ran the council between 2006 and 2010. The residents of Ealing clearly disagreed with the Conservatives otherwise they would still be in power. Labour is delivering high quality public services against a backdrop of reckless Conservative cuts. Ealing Labour is never complacent, public services could always be better and we will always look for ways to improve them. The Conservatives can choose to help us or continue to misinterpret the figures, which show continued improvement against challenging targets which we set to be the very best.
