Ealing Labour’s council tax freeze has saved the average Ealing family over £372 since 2010. Labour has kept council tax frozen for four years. Bills were frozen again at the budget council meeting on Feb 17th and Labour will freeze them again in 2015 if re-elected.

Figures revealed for a council question at the budget council meeting show that in real terms council tax costs a band D household in the borough £135.19 less than in 2010 when Labour took power. This saving is added to the £112 real term saving in 2013, £82 in 2012 and £42 in 2011.

Ealing Labour council leader Cllr Julian Bell said:

We know that people in Ealing are struggling with a cost of living crisis. That is why we have taken action and frozen local resident’s council tax bills for the last four years. This is despite the £87m this Government will cut from the council’s budget, with similar massive cuts planned in the future.

In May the people of Ealing will have a choice between a Labour council that cuts their bills or a Tory council that will cut their services.
