In response to the recent refugee crisis unfolding across Europe and calls for the UK to take more refugees Ealing Labour have issued the following statement:

Resident's Council Tax bills will be dropping through letter boxes shortly and the good news is that they will be frozen for a record seventh year. We know that people have been having a tough time since the international financial crisis hit, with real wages down and the cost of living up, so it is definitely the right decision, notwithstanding the horrendous cuts to our budgets from the Tory led government that we are trying to deal with.

Labour has frozen your council tax again at Ealing Council’s annual budget setting meeting. Your Labour council has frozen council tax for the seventh year in a row despite facing £183m of Tory Government cuts. The freeze means that council tax has not increased by a penny since Labour took control in 2010.

Ealing Labour’s cabinet welcomed the news that a record number of people are satisfied with the service that the council provides at a meeting last night. The proportion of residents satisfied with the way the council runs things has increased to 74%, the highest figure since the council started its resident survey in 2007.

Ealing Labour can confirm that after a long campaign there will now be lift access provided by Transport for London at Hanwell station ahead of Crossrail opening in 2019.
