New research from the charity Shelter has called Ealing a ‘housing blackspot’, calculating it would be impossible for an average working family to afford to buy their first home in the area.

Dr Rupa Huq, Labour’s candidate for Ealing Central and Acton, welcomed the constituency’s twelve winning councillors to their first meeting at Ealing Town Hall on Tuesday evening.

There is a £101m in black hole in Tories' plans for the Borough. In their manifesto, that has finally been published after the Tories attempted to hide it, the Tories have stated that they expect to receive £41m from additional business rates income to cover the cost of expensive promises they are making. They have also stated they will freeze council tax for four years.

While Labour has been running Ealing Council we have frozen the Council Tax. With the cost of living crisis pressing down on local families through stagnant wages and rocketing household bills the Council Tax freeze is crucial help for everyone in Ealing trying to make ends meet. If we are re-elected on 22 May we will freeze Council Tax again in 2015/6 for a fifth consecutive year.

Ealing Tories have been urged to come clean about their plans for the borough after refusing to reveal their manifesto. They have refused to rule out vicious cuts to community facilities in order to pay for the £80m worth of cuts that are being demanded from their Government.

Ealing's Labour Council is to invest £102,000 to improve street lighting in key crime hotspots across the borough. This means that under Labour the council has delivered over £400k worth of upgraded lighting in crime hotspots.

Ealing Labour Party has launched its local Council election manifesto ahead of polling day on 22 May. Labour Leader Cllr Julian Bell and Ealing Labour Councillors and candidates were joined by Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and former Walpole Councillor and Ealing Council Deputy Leader to launch their 5 key pledges and manifesto last week.

Work is starting on opening the southern entrance at Hanwell station. The £300k improvement works will started on April 11 and will be completed by the summer.

Your Labour Council is delivering more library improvements. Under Labour all the boroughs libraries have been kept open despite Tory cuts and there has been a major programme of improvements.
