Today (Wednesday 5th May) Councillors Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, and Yvonne Johnson, cabinet member for schools and children’s services, have written to UNISON reps to confirm that school catering staff in Ealing will be paid London Living Wage from 1st August 2021.

This positive news comes as a result of the Council’s negotiations with the 55 members of the Ealing School Catering Consortium (ESCC).

Ealing’s school meals staff have worked tirelessly, in difficult conditions, throughout the pandemic to ensure the continued provision of vital meals for the borough’s children. At the very least, these key workers deserve the London Living Wage.
